Border guard, customs officer die in exchange with militants in Kyrgyzstan

An armed group numbering up to seven persons on Thursday night attacked Ak-Turpak border post in Batken region of Kyrgyzstan from the territory of Tajikistan, a source in Kyrgyz law enforcement old Interfax.
"Early reports say a serviceman of Kyrgyz border troops and a customs officer died in the exchange of fire with the gunmen," the source said.
First the militants attacked a Tajik border post were they seized Kalashnikov assault rifles and then advanced to Kyrgyz territory, the source added.
After crossing the border the group headed for the Uzbek enclave of Sokh.
Kyrgyz border guards and law enforcement officers have encircled the militants, the source said.
