Uzbek citizen sentenced for espionage in Tajikistan

Uzbek citizen Ibragim Yuldashev has been sentenced to 13 years imprisonment for espionage in Tajikistan, deputy prosecutor of the Sughd region Sadullo Uronov told Interfax.
"Yuldashev was found guilty of espionage and of illegally crossing the state border," he said.
A second Uzbek citizen also went on trial accused of espionage on Friday.
"The defendant could be sentenced to between 12 and 20 years imprisonment," the deputy prosecutor said.
Representatives of Tajik law enouncement bodies accused Uzbekistan of granting refuge to a number of people placed on the Tajik and international wanted lists on suspicion of organizing illegal military groups and preparing terrorist attacks in Tajikistan.
