Uzbekistan's Rustam Kasimjanov drew his 9th game at the World Chess Championship in Argentina against Russian Peter Svidler. Rustam essayed the Sicilian defense as Peter Svidler chose to castle on the opposite wing and unleash a kingside attack. Kasimjanov was quick to advance his queenside pawns and surprised Svidler with a tactical Bishop offer on the 24th move. In a very complicated middle game an exchange of Queens released the pressure. After the smoke cleared, Kasimjanov again sacrified the exchange to penetrate with his Rook on the seventh rank. But Svidler defended well and the two agreed to a draw on the 34th move.
