Uzbekistan not planning to join CSTO - Bordyuzha

Interfax December 28 Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) Secretary General Nikolai Bordyuzha said that Uzbekistan is not planning to join the organization. "As of today, Uzbekistan has not sent any request to join the organization," Bordyuzha said at a press conference at Interfax on Wednesday. Uzbekistan is a large country without which it is difficult to guarantee security in the region, he said. Should Uzbekistan join the CSTO, "this would help in solving the issue," he said.
