Niyazov to visit Uzbekistan in November

September 24President Niyazov of Turkmenistan, during a telephone conversation Friday with Uzbek President Islam Karimov, agreed that he would visit Uzbekistan in November this year. The meeting would take place in Bukhara, the historical Uzbek city and the seat of ancient Muslim civilization about 120 kilometers from the border of Turkmenistan.
The sides also discussed a wide range of questions of bilateral and regional importance.
Both presidents agreed that the centuries-old ties united the people of their countries. They also noted that there was great potential for mutual cooperation and there were no points of difference between the two people.
Uzbek and Turkmen government would create working groups for studying the possibilities of strengthening economic and cultural cooperation between their countries.
Niyazov’s scheduled visit to Bukhara would afford the opportunity to take practical measures to promote further understanding and collaboration between Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
