Daewoo Int'l sells Uzbek share

Daewoo International said Wednesday that it signed a formal contract to sell its shares in Daewoo Unitel, being operated in Uzbekistan, at $73.5 million.

Daewoo International said it signed the deal with Netherlands-based Silkway Holding, where Germanos, the largest telecom equipment company in Greece, participates as stockholder.

Daewoo International president Lee Tae-yong said all the cash flow from the deal will be used to repay debt.
