Presidents of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan to meet

KAZINFORM November 16 November 19 president of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov will meet with the Turkmen colleague Saparmurad Niyazov in Bukhara. The heads of the two republics agreed upon the meeting in Bukhara at the turn of this September during the telephone conversation. In the course of the Uzbek –Turkmen high-level meeting different issues of the economic cooperation are expected to be discussed. The same time the political scientists view the prospective event as one of the steps targeted at re-establishment of good neighborhood. In relations of the two states exists a tension, appeared after an attempt upon the life of the Turkmen president December 2002. Then the officers of the Turkmen special agencies had penetrated into the Embassy of Uzbekistan and even searched the diplomatic premise.
