Chinese, Uzbekistani officials pledges to increase trade

November 11Chinese Vice Premier Wu Yi and her Uzbekistani counterpart Elyar Ganiev met here on Thursday, pledging to further trade cooperation and increase dual-track investment.
"China and Uzbekistan boast traditional friendship and maintain frequent high-level exchanges, through which mutual understanding and political trust is enhanced," Wu told Ganiev during their meeting in Zhongnanhai, the compound of China's central government.
The two countries rendered support to the other and kept close cooperation in regional and international organizations, includingthe Shanghai Cooperation Organization and the United Nations, she said.
"We share common interest in safeguarding regional stability," Wu said. She particularly mentioned the strike against terrorist, separatist and extremist forces in the region, which is also include the East Turkistan terror group.
The Chinese government attaches importance to its relations with Uzbekistan. China will make active efforts to implement the agreements inked during Chinese President Hu Jintao's visit to Uzbekistan last June, she said.
China will encourage more entrepreneurs to invest in Uzbekistanin a bid to enhance economic ties and promote the friendly and cooperative partnership between the two countries, she noted.
She appreciated Uzbekistan's adherence to the one-China policy.Ganiev, in return, said that Uzbekistan will firmly stick to the one-China policy.
Ganiev said that Uzbekistan and China could further cooperationwithin the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, a regional organization involves China, Russia and several other central Asian countries.
He told Wu that the two countries can enhance cooperation in oil and gas, chemicals, soil improvement and infrastructure.
