Kozim Tulyaganov becomes governor of Tashkent province

January 29On Thursday at President Karimov's request the People's Council of Tashkent Province released its former governor Ummat Mirzakulov of his position and appointed first Vice-Premier Kozim Tulyaganov instead. The latter was the mayor of Tashkent city before working in the Cabinet.
A day earlier President Karimov released the Cabinet veteran, Dilbar Gulyamova, of her position of the deputy prime minister and chairman of the Women’s Committee of Uzbekistan. Her position has been taken by Svetlana Inamova who had worked as chairman of the Soglom Avlod Uchun (For A Healthy Generation) foundation.
