Case plans to buy 4% more in Uzselkhozmash-Holding

Case New Holland (CNH) plans to buy another 4% of Uzselkhozmash-Holding, which controls 16 agricultural machine building companies in Uzbekistan, the holding company's deputy chairman Dilshod Salikhbaev said.

Talks about the terms for this deal are close to completion and an agreement may be signed before year-end, he said. The 4% stake could cost about $1 million.

CNH owns 5.8% of Uzselkhozmash-Holding, which it bought in 2000 for $3.5 million.

The government owns 51% of Uzselkhozmash-Holding, 39.4% has been reserved for sale to a foreign investor and 9.6% belongs to minority shareholders, including CNH.
