Uzbekistan made it two wins from two with a 3-0 win over Thailand in qualifying Group A of the Asian Cup.

Maxim Shatskikh, who plays for Dynamo Kiev, opened the scoring for Uzbekistan in the 23rd minute and Vladimar Shishelov added the second four minutes later.

Thailand, hoping to bounce back after a 1-0 defeat to Tajikistan in their opening match, failed to match the more skilful Uzbeks.

Any hopes of a Thai recovery in the second half evaporated when Shishelov scored his second and Uzbekistan's third in the 70th minute to round off a comfortable victory.

Thailand will play their third and final group match against Hong Kong today (Monday). In the group's other qualifying game, Hong Kong beat Tajikistan 1-0.
