Uzbekistan Airways makes debut VN flight

29 äåêàáðÿUsbekistan Airways flew its first direct flight to Viet Nam from its capital Tashkent to the Tan Son Nhat International Airport in HCM City last Friday.
"We established direct flights to Viet Nam to tap the potential market, as the two countries are determined to boost co-operation on bilateral economic development," Anatoly Kushnarev, the airlines’s general manager, told Viet Nam News.
The airline is targeting foreigners and Vietnamese to the west central Asian country and neighboring countries. Previous flights had to fly via Bangkok.
The new flight departs Tashkent on Thusdays and leaves HCM City on Fridays.
"Early next year, we’ll have a second one, the Tashkent-HCM City-Ha Noi-Tashkent flight, expected to leave from Tashkent on Wednesdays," he said.
Uzbekistan Airways began operating in 1994 and now runs 43 international direct flights to more than 20 countries.
In recent years it recorded 1.5 million passengers annually.
Its Boeing 767 last Saturday brought more than 100 commercial passengers to the city.
