Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who is currently in Uzbekistan, received Omer Salman, the chairman of Meshketian Turks Cultural Association in Uzbekistan and the accompanying delegation on Thursday.

The problems of 48,000 Meshketian Turks who live in Uzbekistan were taken up in the meeting which was closed to the press.

Meshketian Turks demanded from Erdogan financial support for constructing a building for the association and teachers for education of children to maintain their culture in Uzbekistan.

Erdogan asked State Minister Besir Atalay to search for the ways that could be done about the issue.
