December 16Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan are actively negotiating on broadcasting television and radio programmes of Kazakhstan in Uzbekistan and Uzbek television and radio for Kazakh audience, Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan Tleuhan Kabdrahmanov told Kazinform.
According to head of diplomatic mission, the embassy of Kazakhstan in Uzbekistan is working hard in this direction. ?This issue is being considered both in Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. The heads of television and radio companies of the two countries may arrange a meeting soon to discuss the issue more thoroughly," Kabdrahmanov said.
"At the same time we are not eliminating the possibility of the issue to be discussed by the foreign ministries of the two states. The sides need to go over the legislative aspects of the matter," he added.
It is important that both sides have a mutual will and consent on setting up television and radio broadcasting between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. "The heads of the two countries also support the idea. I suppose that the issue will be solved soon, but the exact dates have not been set yet," the ambassador noted.
As reported earlier, during his visit to Kazakhstan, President Islam Karimov came up with a proposal to launch joint broadcasting of TV and radio programmes for the audiences of both countries.
