Kabul, Tashkent sign agreement on trade, business cooperation

Uzbekistan and Afghanistan have signed an intergovernmental agreement on trade and business cooperation, the Uzbek Foreign Ministry's press service told Interfax on Wednesday.

The document was signed during a two-day visit to Afghanistan by Uzbek Foreign Minister Sadyk Safayev. An agreement on cooperation in the area of railroad transport was also signed.

During his trip, Safayev met with Afghan President Hamid Karzai, Foreign Minister Abdullah Abdullah and several other officials.

The foreign minister also attended the opening ceremony of the Uzbek Embassy in Kabul.
