Uzbek-Turkish joint venture start producing Ford Cargo trucks

Uzbek-Turkish joint venture SamKochAvto in Samarkand has started producing Ford Cargo trucks, a source from the company told Interfax. Koc Holding, the Turkish owner of the venture, is supplying the assembly kits. SamKochAvto plans to assemble about 100 Ford Cargo trucks in 2003 that are to be sold in Uzbekistan. The joint venture was established in 1996. Uzavtoprom and Koc Holding own equal shares.
