Acting OSCE head to visit Uzbekistan and two other Central Asian states

October 28Acting OSCE Chairman Portuguese Minister of Foreign Affairs and Portuguese Communities Antonio Martins da Cruz will start a four-day trip of three Central Asian OSCE member countries on Tuesday 29 October .
"During this official trip scheduled for 29 October-1 November the acting OSCE chairman will visit Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan and hold meetings with the heads of state and foreign ministers of these countries. He will also hold a number of other meetings," says a press release issued by the OSCE office in Kazakhstan today.
The Kazakh Foreign Ministry circulated information today saying that Antonio Martins da Cruz will visit Kazakh capital Astana between 29-30 October. As part of his visit, Antonio Martins da Cruz will meet Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev, the speakers of both chambers of parliament, the speaker of the Senate the upper chamber , Oralbay Abdykarimov, and the speaker of the Majlis the lower chamber , Zharmakhan Tuyakbay, Kazakh State Secretary, Foreign Affairs Minister Kasymzhomart Tokayev and representatives from Kazakh NGOs.
The OSCE's Kazakh office also invited representatives of the media to the news conferences that are to be held following the meetings of Antonio Martins da Cruz with the heads of state.
The news conferences are expected to be held in Kazakhstan on Tuesday afternoon, in Uzbekistan on Wednesday 30 October afternoon and in Turkmenistan on Thursday 31 October afternoon.
