Turkish Film Week will be organized in Uzbekistan for the first time since Uzbekistan gained its independence. Seven films will be shown between October 25 and 31 under the organization of the Turkish Embassy Cultural Counsellor's Office in Tashkent. Cultural Counsellor Ali Elgin said that "Selvi Boylum Al Yazmalim", a film of Turkan Soray, who was chosen as the best actress in 1978 Tashkent Film Festival, would also be on the screen during the week. "Dar Alanda Kisa Paslasmalar", "Agir Roman", "Gule Gule", "Ah Guzel Istanbul", "Durusma" and "Karisik Pizza" will also be shown during the week. Turkey had joined with two films each to Tashkent Film Festival in 1997 and European Film Week last year.
