Monument to Gafur Gulam to be erected in Tashkent

October 16100th anniversary of well-known Uzbek poet and academician Gafur Gulom will be celebrated in Uzbekistan in 2003. In this regard, Ministry of Culture, Academy of Arts and Tashkent city administration have announced a countrywide open contest for the best project of the monument to Gafur Gulom. The monument will be will erected in the centre of Tashkent. According to contest terms, both professional and amateur sculptors can participate in it. rojects should be submitted to Academy of Arts until 30 November 2002.
