Asian Games. Tennis. Oleg Ogorodov to play in semifinals

Top-seeded Paradorn Srichaphan of Thailand stayed on course for the singles gold medal at the Asian Games on Thursday, defeating Taiwan's Lu Yen-hsun 6-0, 6-4 in the quarterfinals.

In other men's quarterfinal matches Thursday, Takao Suzuki of Japan defeated Wang Yeu-tzuoo of Taiwan 6-1, 6-1, and second seed Lee Hyung-taik of South Korea beat Vadim Kutsenko of Uzbekistan 6-3, 6-1.

Suzuki and Lee will meet in the semifinals. Paradorn, who has an ATP ranking of 28 after beating world No. 1 Lleyton Hewitt at the Japan Open last week, will play Oleg Ogorodov of Uzbekistan, who beat Goichi Motomura of Japan 6-4, 6-3.

Paradorn lost to Ogorodov earlier this year.

P.S.On Friday Oleg Ogorodov lost to Paradorn Srichaphan in two sets - 3-6, 3-6.
