The 10th session of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Karakalpakstan has approved Tursunboy Tangirbergenov in the office of chairman of the republic's Council of Ministers. Prior to his appointment Tangirbergenov was governor of Tortkol District.

His predecessor, A. Tojiyev, has been transferred to another job. The session has considered bills on town-building and state awards, on approving the powers of deputies elected to the vacant seats, as well as changes to the staff of the Supreme Council committees.
