On 2 October 2002 President of Uzbekistan signed a decree on appointing Bahrom Kurbanov as Culture Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Hayrulla Jorayev, who has previously occupied the post of the Culture Minister, has been relieved of his duties by another presidential decree.
