Teaching of Russian language, literature to be discussed

An international three-day conference on the theme of "Linguo-Culturological Problems, State of and Prospects of Teaching of Russian Language and Literature" opens in the Uzbek capital on Monday.

The conference has been organised by the Uzbekistan-Russia friendship society, the mission of the Roszarubezhcentre as well as the Russian Embassy in Uzbekistan will be attended by delegations from Russia, a number of CIS countries, and Estonia. On the Russian delegation are specialists on the teaching of the Russian language from Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov, the Russian Friendship University, St.Petersburg University, the A.S.Pushkin State Institute of the Russian Language and Literature, the Russian Society of the Teachers of the Russian Language and Literature.

Those present at the conference are to hear more than 90 reports. The forum will be continued in Samarkand, where about 100 Russian-language specialists are to deliver reports.
