German Foreign Minister Joschka Fischer on Monday 25 November is leaving for Uzbekistan and Afghanistan for visits to familiarize himself with changes taking place in Kabul.

As a spokesman for the German Foreign Ministry said, the German delegation headed by the foreign minister includes experts of Bundestag and the party of Greens. One of the main tasks of the visit is to estimate the situation in Afghanistan on the eve of an international conference on the country's restoration scheduled to be held in the suburbs of Bonn on 2 December.

Joschka Fischer will hold talks with Afghan President Hamed Karzai and Foreign Minister Abdollah Abdollah. Besides, the German foreign minister will meet on Tuesday 26 November with Bundeswehr German Federal Army servicemen accommodated in Kabul.

Germany is the biggest donor of Afghanistan. In the current year, Berlin has channelled 126m euros to the country for its revival. The programme of forming Afghanistan's law-enforcement bodies, as well as the project of restoring its secondary education system are being realized first of all on German money.
