Secretary of State of the French Foreign Ministry Renaud Muselier concluded his three-day visit to Uzbekistan on Thursday 7 November.

An agreement on cooperation between the governments of Uzbekistan and France in the field of civil security, as well as prevention and liquidation of emergency situations was signed on the results of the visit. Commenting on this event, First Deputy Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Sodiq Safoyev stressed, in particular, that France occupies the fourth place in Uzbekistan's trade and economic relations with other countries. Besides, 500,000 people learn French in Uzbekistan at present.

The French secretary of state had a meeting with Uzbek President Islam Karimov within the framework of his visit. During the meeting the sides touched upon issues of a political and economic character, as well as issues of scientific and technical cooperation between the two countries.
