Promoter Vlad Warton’s two rising stars from Uzbekistan, junior welterweight Mohammed Abdullaev, 10-0 (8), and heavyweight Ruslan Chagaev, 5-0-1 (4), will next appear on the undercard of Kostya Tszyu-James Leija in Melbourne on January 19.

“Abdullaev has been the talk of the town since his last win over Juan Antonio Lopez. Everyone has been talking about him. His last win was just super,” said Warton.

“I think the fans will enjoy seeing him in Melbourne. Both he and Chagaev will be against good opponents as well. The ticket sales are going very well and we are very excited. I think it is going to be the event of all events in boxing terms. I’m very pleased that we were able to get it together.”

Warton rejected any suggestions that this is definitely Tszyu’s last fight in Australia.

“If it’s a very successful event, it may allow us to have one more,” he said.
