Uzbekistan to reopen consulate in northern Afghan town

zbekistan is reopening its General Consulate in Mazar-e Sharif, Afghanistan, the Uzbek Foreign Ministry's press service told Interfax on Tuesday [15 January].
The consulate was closed after the Taleban regime came to power in Afghanistan in 1997.
The reopening of the Uzbek Embassy in Kabul is not planned so far, the ministry reported.
