Vinnitsa aircraft factory to repair 25 aircraft engines for Uzbek airlines

The Vinnitsa aircraft factory has signed a contract with the Uzbek National Airlines for repair of 25 aircraft engines in 2003, the factory's Director Oleg Yaroslavsky has told Ukrainian News.

According to Yaroslavsky, Uzbekistan had planned to contract for repair of 50 engines, but the Ukrainian factory did not have the capacity to perform such a large order.

Yaroslavsky did not disclose the value of the contract. According to him, the contract provides for repairing An-2 airplane engines.

According to Yaroslavsky, the Vinnitsa aircraft factory increased its output by 150% to UAH 2.5 million during the January-September period of this year, compared with the corresponding period of last year.

The Vinnitsa aircraft factory specializes in repairing aircraft engines. It also repairs the Yak-26, Yak-24, Yak-18T, and Mi-2 aircraft.
