Italy's Techint to launch $27.2 mln glass line in Uzbekistan

December 4Italian company Techint will launch a U.S. $27.2 million automotive glass production line at Uzbekistan's Avtooyna plant in the first quarter of 2003, Avtooyna CEO Tulkinzhon Kurbanov told Prime-Tass Wednesday.
Techint partly controls Avtooyna.
Kurbanov said Techint has completed the installation of equipment and will hold a trial run at the start of the year.
According to estimates, Avtooyna's annual output will reach 65,300 automotive glass kits in 2003 and 82,400 in 2005.
The project is financed by Italy's Banca Nazionale del Lavoro, which has provided a $19.3 million loan under Uzbek government guarantees, and by the Uzbek plant's own funds.
