In accordance with a decree of the president of Uzbekistan, Emergency Situations minister Botir Parpiyev was appointed chairman of the State Customs Committee filling in the position previously held by Ravshan Haydarov, who had earlier been appointed khokim (governor) of Syrdarya oblast.
