The latest UzDaewoo car, the Matiz, has gone on sale in the Uzbek capital, Tashkent, with 148 sold in the first three days, Uzbek TV reported on 27 October.

The Matiz is built at the UzDaewoo assembly plant in the Andizhan Region, in Uzbekistan's eastern Fergana Valley. It follows the Nexia and Tico models and the Damas minibus off the assembly lines at the plant, which is a 50-50 joint-venture between the Uzbek car industry association and the South Korean Daewoo Motor Co.

"So far the Matiz is only on sale in the capital city of Tashkent. However, in a month's time it will possible to buy the new car in other Regions as well," the report said, over video of the new model and the assembly plant. The report did not mention the sales price.
