he fourth session of the Uzbek-Georgian commission for bilateral
cooperation has been held in Tbilisi [Georgian capital]. The session, which
was attended by delegations led by the co-chairmen of the commission, Uzbek
Deputy Prime Minister Rustam Yunusov and Georgian Deputy Minister of State
Koba Gvenetadze, discussed the development of bilateral cooperation.
The session of the Uzbek-Georgian commission for bilateral cooperation
resulted in signing a protocol in which measures to further promote the
development of mutually advantageous relations between the two countries
are reflected.
Within the framework of the session, the Georgian Ministry of Tax Revenue
and the Uzbek State Customs Committee signed agreements "On mutual
recognition of customs documents and procedures", "On cooperation in
combating smuggling and breaches of customs regulations", "On cooperation
in seizing and returning smuggled items of cultural value, "On cooperation
in fighting illegal trafficking in drugs and psychotropic substances, and
also protocols on "On methodological and informational interaction in the
sphere of customs statistics and foreign trade" and "On simplifying customs
procedures on customs borders and ensuring their uniformity".
The results of the joint Uzbek-Georgian commission
are evidence of both sides having an interest in further strengthening and
expanding mutually advantageous relations.
