The first test train carrying Uzbek goods has departed from the Oqoltin railway station in Syrdarya Region [central Uzbekistan] on the Tashkent-Teheran-Istanbul route on the initiative of the Uzbekistan Railways state joint-stock company.

The commissioning of the railway route will open access for Uzbek and Central Asian goods to European sea ports. The Economic Cooperation Organization's special working group considered the issue of using the route, which is a part of the Transasian main railway line, at its third session in Turkey on 3-5 September this year.
