he meeting between the presidents of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan is drawing to an end at the Dormon presidential residence [Tashkent suburbs]. The UzA agency has learned that the heads of state are discussing a wide range of socioeconomic issues of cooperation between the two countries. Islam Karimov and Emomali Rahmonov are expected to hold a news conference after the talks.
It is also planned that the Uzbek and Tajik delegations will hold expanded talks today.
Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev and Kyrgyz President Askar Akayev will arrive in Tashkent in the afternoon. The Kazakh, Kyrgyz, Tajik and Uzbek presidents will discuss regional stability and prospects for multilateral cooperation between the countries of the region.
