Tajik ministers in Uzbekistan to discuss water, energy issues

The Tajik energy minister, Abdullo Yorov, the Tajik minister of land reclamation and water resources, Abduqohir Nazirov, and specialists from the ministries' various departments are currently in Tashkent [the Uzbek capital] on a working visit.

An aide to the energy minister, Rahmatullo Asoyev, told Asia-Plus that the Tajik ministers intended to meet the heads of the relevant Uzbek departments. The sides will discuss preparations for signing an intergovernmental agreement on the use of water and energy resources between Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. In particular, they will discuss the supply of electricity to each other and the supply of Uzbek gas to Tajikistan.
