Uzbekistan considers cutting income tax

Income tax in Uzbekistan is likely to decrease from year to year, Uzbek radio reported.

According to radio, the Russian decision to cut income taxes has brought about positive results, helping to abolish bribery and making society healthier.

An Uzbek parliamentary session also considered the idea of cutting income tax from 35 per cent to 33 per cent. The measure may bring about results in 2002. "In the future income tax in Uzbekistan will not increase; on the contrary, it will be decreasing from year to year," said the report.
