rare copy of an 18th-century Koran and pages from another holy book, which were seized by Uzbek security forces some time ago, has been given to the Uzbek board of Muslims.
Receiving the book, Uzbek Muslim leader and head of the board Mufti Abdurashid Bahromov said: "God willing, we will place the copy of the Koran and these pages from another Koran in a special room where the authentic copy of the Koran is kept."
Uzbek security forces had earlier thwarted an attempt by criminals to sell a rare copy of the Koran written in gold and 162 pages of another holy book for some 5m dollars.
