Uzbek authorities seize 10 kg of heroin from Russia-bound vehicle

The Uzbek National Security Service has blocked another inter-regional route for drug smuggling.

The Uzbek National Security Service, jointly with officers at the Oybek customs checkpoint in Tashkent Region, have arrested the organizer of a group which was engaged in smuggling heroin from Tajikistan to Russia through Uzbekistan.

Almost at the same time, officers of the Ghisht-Koprik checkpoint in the same Region stopped a Russian-made VAZ-2108 car with two Uzbek citizens in it. The two people were drug couriers. There was over 10 kg of heroin in their car. They were attempting to transport it to Russia.
