Uzbek government approves 2002 investment program

he Uzbek government has approved a 1,557,804m-som [the current official rate is 683.41 soms for one dollar] investment program for 2002, the Russian-language Tashkentskaya Pravda newspaper reported on 1 December.
The programme contains the main forecast parameters of capital investments from all kinds of sources of finance, the newspaper said. Under the program, centralized investments will amount to 901,637m soms, and non-centralized investments will total 656,167m soms. The centralized investments from the state budget will be limited to 300,000m soms, it said.
There are 73 projects included in the targeted investment 2002 program to be financed with foreign investments and credits under government guarantees. It was estimated to be 2,971.29m dollars, it added.
